  1. Is shark diving safe?
    When you're in a wild environment with wild animals there is never a guarantee that it's 100% safe. In most popular shark diving regions tour operators have to abide by strict environmental and safety regulations. Usually the guides and instructors have been diving in the area for many years and have experience diving with sharks. As a general rule, if you do not feel 100% safe or do not trust your diving instructors and tour leaders do not get in the water. Better to be safe than sorry.

  2. Do I need special qualifications for shark diving?
    If you are planning on going cage shark diving you do not need any qualifications. If you are going open water shark diving you need an open water or advanced open water scuba diving certification (depending on the depth). In most cases shark diving operators and companies have dive instructors taht you can complete your certification with. Another note, most shark diving operators require you to be of good physical health before entering the water.

  3. When is the best time to go shark diving?

  4. What is the best place to see Great White Sharks?
    By far the best place places to see Great White Sharks are South Africa and South Australia. Shark diving in these regions has become quite a tourist attraction which means that the infrastructure in there and prices are very competitive. Great White Sharks can been seen in these locations all year round.

  5. Does shark diving harm the sharks?
    No it doesn't. Dive operators are divers themselves and respect and care for marine life. In locations where shark diving is popular, goverments will often limit the number of vessels and dive companies that are allowed to shark dive in the area.
